The owner and CEO of Bulgaria's largest private radio Darik and of the Darik Web Group news sites, Radosvet Radev has decided to purchase a special news helicopter, which will be used for air coverage of mass gatherings, crashes, natural disasters, and other events.
The newscopter will be the first and only of its kind in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. According to Radev, it could be used for making picture and videos, which could then be posted on the Darik Web's news sites (including novinite.com).
Alternatively, the newcopter could be leased to other Bulgarian media, or to media from Greece or Turkey.
Darik's newscopter will Robinson R44 Raven II, which costs USD 658 000. It is equipped with nose-mounted digital camera system, projectors, tail-mounted micro cameras, color video monitors, and a complete microwave transmission package.
