The Australian media tycoon Rupert Murdoch himself confirmed Wednesday that his global media company News Corporation was going to sell its Bulgarian TV channel bTV.
The sale price of Bulgaria's most profitable TV station has not been announced yet but according to the Bulgarian financial newspaper Pari Daily it ranges between EUR 900 M and EUR 1,1 B.
The news about the preparations to sell bTV leaked in the middle of July. Two other Bulgarian TV channels were sold last week - TV2 was sold for EUR 110 M to the US company Central European Media Enterprises, and Nova TV was sold to the Swedish Modern Times Group for EUR 620 M.
