Рўhe President of the Bulgarian Football Club Litex Angel Bonchev has been released allegedly after his wife had paid the ransom of BGN 3 M demanded by his kidnappers.
The information was reported Friday night by the Bulgarian private Darik Radio.
According to the official information of the Interior Ministry, a police patrol found late Thursday night a man lying helplessly on the ground in the Sofia Quarter Knyazhevo.
He had no ID, and the policemen found only later that the man was the missing President of the Litex FC.
Bonchev was discovered in a very bad psychological condition, and was immediately brought to a hospital by the police.
The hospital is most likely the Military Medical Academy or the hospital of the Interior Ministry because people, who have been abducted and released before, have usually been admitted there.
The private Darik Radio reported also that it was possible that Bonchev's wife herself, who brought the ransom to the kidnappers, might have been abducted. No official information is available on where she currently is.
The President of the Litex Football Club, which is based in the northern Bulgarian city of Lovech, Angel Bonchev disappeared around 1 a.m. on May 22 before his apartment building in Sofia's Quarter Durvenitsa.
At that time Bonchev was coming home with his wife, and remained on the parking lot to park his car.
Since Bonchev went missing, there has been no official information that he had been kidnapped for ransom.
