The lava flow from Kilauea, which has been erupting on and off for 25 years, started on Nov 21 last year but experts say that more lava is spilling from the volcano and into the ocean than usual, the Telegraph reported.
Officials at the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said that surface flow of lava is snaking eastwards from the crater, while underground "tubes" are also expelling lava into the ocean.
Visitors can observe 12 meters high lava waves gushing from the volcano from a viewing area just a few hundred meters away
Officials say the eruption which started on Sunday poses no danger to residents living nearby.
