Bulgaria Head Mufti's Office Protests Against Gay Parade

Society | June 27, 2008, Friday // 00:00

The Office of Bulgaria's Head Mufti protested on Friday against the planned gay parade, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday in Sofia.

The Head Mufti's Office sent a protest letter to the media stating it denounced homosexuality and the acts of homosexuals "especially when they tried impertinently to change the public opinion, and the moral, religious, and traditional values of the Bulgarian society through public happenings like gay parades".

The Mufti's Office urges all competent authorities to undertake the necessary measures for introducing religion as a school subject in order to prevent the influence of moral and social diseases such as homosexuality, pedophilia, drug addiction, and alcoholism.
