EU Financed Bulgaria Farming Projects for Over BGN 100 M in 2007

The European Union SAPARD program had financed 676 farming and other agricultural projects in Bulgaria in 2007 for a total subsidy amount of BGN 127,5 M, according to the report of the State Fund "Agriculture" for the last year.

The report has already been approved by the Cabinet.

Over 1/3 of the contracts have been signed for investment in farming for a total value of BGN 90 M, followed by ecology projects for environmental preservation in rural areas, renovation and development of villages, preservation of villages' cultural heritage.

Farmers from the regions of Plovdiv (27 projects), Stara Zagora (16), Sliven (11) Burgas (10) and Yambol (10) have been the most active.
