The official visit of the Bulgarian delegation, lead by Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev begins in New York Sunday.

The Bulgarian delegation will participate in the official ceremony to commemorate the end of the school year at the Bulgarian "Hristo Botev" school in New York. At the moment the school has 51 students studying under educational programs created by the Bulgarian Education Ministry. Their studies are recognized as equivalent to education in Bulgaria.

Later Sunday, Stanishev will meet with the Bulgarian community in the US. The meeting will take place at the Bulgarian Consulate in New York. Representatives of the Bulgarian community will include Bulgarians employed on Wall Street and Bulgarians who work to spread Bulgarian culture and traditions in the US such as art gallery mangers, Bulgarian foods distributors and others.

The meetings with the Bulgarian Diaspora are traditional for Bulgarian Prime Ministers' visits abroad.

The Bulgarian delegation includes the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivaylo Kalfin, Finance Minister Petar Dimitrov, Defense Minister Nikolay Tsonev, Tsveta Markova, Chair of the State Commission for Security of Information.
