NASA has announced that communications between the Phoenix probe and the Mars Reconnaissance orbiter have been restored.
The communication was interrupted earlier Wednesday due to technical difficulties and radio interference.
The probe sends information through two satellites located in the Red Planet's orbit.
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter sends Phoenix the Earth's commands while Mars Odyssey sends information from the Red Planet to the Earth.
NASA's Phoenix landed successfully on Mars's northern pole Monday, beginning a three-month mission to determine whether the Red Planet ever supported rudimentary forms of life.
The Phoenix's 90-day mission is to analyze the soils and permafrost of Mars' arctic tundra for signs of past or present life.
Less than two hours after its landing Phoenix sent the first black and white pictures of the planet, including one of its foot sitting on the Mars soil.
