A new national council of labour migration established within Bulgaria's Ministry of Labor and Social Policy is to set the annual quotas for foreign work force inflow.
The news came along with the newly accepted national strategy for migration and integration, which aims at attracting Bulgarians living abroad back to the country in order to support its economic development.
Through the document Bulgaria shows it aims at modern and efficient control of migration processes, ministry officials said.
The strategy also envisages introducing a "green card" system that is to assuage eventual work force shortage in the country.
Last week Bulgaria's PM Sergey Stanishev declared that due to Bulgaria's stable economic development in the past several years, the number of people willing to live and work outside the country has decreased, although there is "still a lot to be done to permanently attract Bulgarians residing abroad."
