Bulgaria's Prime Minister and leader of the Socialist party Sergey Stanishev announced Thursday the appointing of Angel Naydenov as the new chair of the parliamentary group of the socialists-led Coalition for Bulgaria.
The decision was made at a special party meeting.
Naydenov is to take the post after it was vacated by Mihail Mikov, who became Bulgaria's new Interior Minister in the framework of the current staff changes in the cabinet.
"I am sure Angel Naydenov will cope with his tasks as he has many valuable qualities," PM Stanishev explained.
Earlier there had been allegations that Rumen Petkov, who resigned as Interior Minister last week, might take the position.
