On Tuesday, Valeri Tsvetanov was nominated as Bulgaria's new Agriculture and Food Supply Minister in the government of PM Sergey Stanishev, replacing Nihat Kabil.
Tsvetanov was born in 1951. He graduated from the Agriculture Institute in Sofia in the specialty of Zoo-engineering.
In 1988, he became a doctor in agriculture science. His career started in Stock-breeding Institute in the town of Kostinbrod.
Tsvetanov worked as a director of the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) and a head of Staff Training Center with the National Center of Agriculture Science.
Currently, Valeri Tsvetanov is a professor at Agroecology Institute "Pushkarov" in Bulgaria's capital.
