Zimbabwe court is to rule Monday on whether to order the release of delayed presidential election results, which will show whether Robert Mugabe, ruling since 1987, will remain in power.
On Sunday the opposition demanded for an immediate release of the final tally with candidate Morgan Tsangvirai claiming to have won outright, while the governing party insisted on a recount that would lead to further delay, the New York Times reported.
No results have emerged from the presidential vote for nine days and the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) says Mugabe's ZANU-PF is trying to find a way to cling to power.
Mr. Tsvangirai predicted on Saturday that an eventual runoff would be a traumatizing event for the country and accused the governing party of "preparing a war on the people." His party has called for intervention by the United Nations and other countries to assure a fair outcome of the elections.
