A private Malaysian university is interested in purchasing a building in the northeastern Bulgarian city of Razgrad in order to open a branch there.

This was announced Thursday by the Deputy Mayor of Razgrad Makrena Dimitrova, the Bulgarian private Darik Radio reported.

The name of the university from the Southeast Asian country was not revealed but it is known that the new branch of the school is going to train students in high-tech majors.

However, it is not clear yet whether Razgrad for sure will become the location of the Balkan branch of the Malaysia school, as the university is allegedly considers another option in the Republic of Macedonia.

The municipal administration of Razgrad has offered to the Malaysians the building of the former Vocational School for Fine Ceramics and Glass that was closed down several years ago.

It is expected that City Council is going to initiate a procedure next week for the sale of the abandoned building with a total area of 5000 square meters. The starting price will be BGN 900 000.
