About two weeks after the shipwreck of Bulgarian cargo vessel Vanessa, a Ukrainian ship carrying grain sank in the Azov Sea after being damaged by sea ice.
Thirteen crewmembers were aboard the vessel but a towboat managed to evacuate all of them before the ship foundered, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reported.
The accident occurred Friday night, 63 kilometers from the Kerch Strait, which links the Azov to the Black Sea.
The area is very tricky during the winter season, due to the shallowness of the sea and the intense storms.
After the previous shipwreck in the Azov Sea, only one Bulgarian sailor of the 11 crewmembers aboard Vanessa has been rescued.
