Sofia municipality is to increase the taxes by up to BGN 10 on buildings cutting off those on waste, Deputy Mayor Minko Gerdzhikov announced Monday.

"Such a step will prevent rise in the tax duties of the residents," he added.

The taxes on cars will exceed its current level by 0,5% in comparison to that in 2007. A total of BGN 41 M is expected to be the incomes the municipality gets due to those taxes.

That money will be used for asphalting the streets across the capital city.

The taxes on construction permits are also to see increase of BGN 21 as the money received due to it will support the neighborhoods' infrastructure innovation, the Deputy Mayor Gerdzhikov explained.
