Bulgaria: Wenger: Berbatov Is the New Henry Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov scored the equaliser during Tottenham Hotspur's defeat in the derby with Arsenal on Saturday. File photo

Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov was compared to Thierry Henry by Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger after a strong performance during Tottenham Hotspur's defeat in the north London derby on Saturday.

"Berbatov is a bit like Thierry. He doesn't turn up where you want him to be. Left, right, centre, he goes everywhere and was outstanding today," the boss of the Gunners reportedly said.

During the game the goalscorer showed his usual frustration when he did not receive the ball, before exploding and scoring the equaliser goal and then winning the penalty wasted by Robbie Keane.

"Tottenham played a good game and came back to 1-1. But then Manuel saved the penalty and it was a mental blow for them. We got another goal but it was a tough game," Wenger commented.

Berbatov has been linked with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur but has recently reiterated his desire to stay in the club and repay the faith shown in him.
