Bulgaria's Supreme Cassation Court sentenced the truck driver responsible for the terrible crash near the town of Byala to 10 years in jail.
The court also imposed a 12-year driving ban to Sinan Aliev, whose truck hit against a city bus that plunged into a river killing 18 and injuring 11 on December 7 last year.
An expertise showed the brakes of the truck were not working properly and that the vehicle was overloaded. Aliev knew that, experts claimed, adding that those were the main reasons for the crash.
