The condition of the alleged drug dealer Martin Parvanov, who was shot in downtown Sofia late on Thursday, has been stabilized, Darik News reported.

Parvanov, 37, also known as Crazy Marto, was shot four times at his body and head, while he was in his sports utility vehicle close to his house, near the Mall of Sofia shopping centre.

The police are still investigating the case and looking for the shooter, who remains at large.

Parvanov is believed to be close to alleged drug smuggler Ilian Versanov.

The victim has also been allegedly related to the one of the key figures in drug trafficking through Bulgaria Anton Miltenov, a.k.a Klyuna (the Beak).

Klyuna had a long criminal record, including a charge for attempted murder against Varsanov in August 2002.
