The airports in the towns of Varna, Burgas and Plovdiv will be merged into one company, the transport ministry announced on Friday.

The new company, Airport Plovdiv EAD, will be headed by the current Executive Director of the airport in the coastal town of Varna Yanko Yankov.

The news came on a day that will be remembered by many passengers with the thick fog and cancelled flights, wreaking havoc at all major airports across the country and Sofia in particular.
