Authorities in the town of Kustendil ordered Monday that a scandalous billboard of Bulgaria's famed Roma gay and popfolk star Azis and his partner should be removed from the central crossing it is placed at.

The poster, which shows the new silicone breasts of the singer, advertises the fourth Bulgarian broadcast television channel TV2 to be launched on November 25.

The producers have big hopes for the primetime show hosted by Azis will compete for TV ratings against the country's most popular late night show, hosted by Slavi Trifonov on bTV.

Kustendil's Mayor Petar Paunov said that if the company, which hired the billboard fails to take it down soon, the municipality is to complete that task.

The focus of the new TV channel will be on entertainment shows, with a smattering of reality TV programming, including Donald Trump's The Apprentice, as well as news.

Although TV2 does not hold a national broadcast licence, it will bypass that requirement since it has 27 regional broadcast licences.

It has a programming licence, which it received in 2000 and is valid until 2010.

Currently, Bulgaria has three broadcast channels - state television BNT, News Corp.'s bTV and Nova TV, owned by Greek media group Antenna.

Media reports have claimed Krassimir Gergov, Bulgaria's advertising mogul, is behind the new channel.
