A total of 22 employees of Bulgaria's Revenue Agency have been sacked and another eight turned over to prosecutors on corruption charges over the first nine months of the year.

Six former employees are on trial and two have already been sentenced, the agency's spokesman Rosen Bachvarov told Darik News on Tuesday.

"The agency has been tipped off about more than 200 cases of rule violations or bribing attempts until the end of September," Bachvarov added.

Firms and individuals can make tip-offs over suspected procedural breaches or corruption to the body's authorities on its Internet site, starting from Tuesday.
