A man has been shot to death with one bullet in the head in a southern district of the Bulgarian capital, Darik News reported.

The victim has been identified as Boycho Zapryanov, 48, a local businessman, who is believed to have a criminal record.

The shooting occurred late on Sunday on Gotse Delchev boulevard in Belite brezi district.

Police has sealed off the area and is hunting down the shooter.

Zapryanov is owner of Agrolit company, which trades in fuel, and holds a 33% stake in Pure Power company, a producer of wood briquettes.

Both companies are registered in the town of Velingrad.
