Bulgaria's rightist and nationalist parties filed on Monday a motion of no-confidence against the cabinet over its handling of the teachers' strike.

The motion was filed after the opposition's Sunday deadline for the government to reach an agreement with the striking teachers' unions and the protest of employees from the education sector entered its fourth week.

A total of 63 MPs from all opposition parties have signed the no-confidence motion, which needs 48 signatures to hit the parliamentary floor.

But the three-way ruling coalition between the Socialist, ex-king Simeon Saxe-Coburg's NMSP party and the ethnic Turk MRF has 167 seats out of 240 in the Bulgarian legislature, dooming any vote of no confidence to failure.
