A spotlight exploded Tuesday over the tribune in Culture and Sport Palace in Bulgaria's Varna at the moment when Russia's First Lady Lyudmila Putina went on the stage to speak at the congress of the International Association of Russian language and literature teachers.

The spouse of Russian President Vladimir Putin has not been injured, Darik News reported.

The glasses from the damaged spotlight fell on the heads of two women from the audience in Congress hall, where the event took place.

The two, a Russian and a Romanian national, have been rushed to a nearby hospital with minor injuries on their heads and arms.

After the accident the forum went on as it was scheduled.

Bulgaria's Prime minister Sergey Stanishev, who also attended the forum, delivered a five-minute speech in Russian.
