Sofia city court left behind bars Filip Dimitrov, 28, who allegedly shot dead with an arrow an Iraqi citizen earlier this week.

Dimitrov turned himself in, on Thursday, two days after killing Ali Mohamed Taher, 41.

Investigators say the motive for the murder is not clear yet but it's definitely not an attempt to settle scores with the victim.

Dimitrov himself, however, made a confession in an interview for 24 Hours daily, saying he shot the Iraqi because he hated Arabs.

"I hate them since the time I worked in Libya and I decided to kill one of them. I chose Ali Mohamed Taher as he was alone in the shop at that time," Dimitrov said.

The murderer has a criminal record for thefts and drug possession.

The tragedy took place in front of a shop on the central Tsar Simeon street where Taher worked. He was rushed to Pirogov Emergency Institute shortly after the shooting but doctors could do nothing to save his life.

Police found a cross-bow, the weapon used for the murder, as they searched the house of the suspect.
