Picks Stuck into Car in Bulgarian Seaside Town

Crime | September 15, 2007, Saturday // 00:00

Several picks were stuck early on Saturday morning into the front bonnet of the vice chairman of Municipal markets in the seaside Bulgarian town of Pomorie.

The owner of the damaged vehicle, the 38-year-old Nikolay Kolev, was parked in front of his home. According to people close to Kolev the picks were a way of threatening him. The case is still under investigation.

Damaging cars by sticking picks in them became quite a trend among the underworld figures in Bulgaria's coastal region in the past year. The practice even found its ground in the capital Sofia, as many of the underworld residents of the Varna and Burgas Black Sea cities came to the capital to seek better realization of their crime deals.
