Bulgaria's healthcare minister Radoslav Gaidarski turned over the keys from 34 new ambulances to 28 emergency clinics on Wednesday.

The Volkswagen Transporter vans were bought for rural areas with bad roads, the healthcare ministry said.

The ministry bought a total 155 vehicles using a loan from the World Bank, some of which have already been delivered.

The last batch of vans is expected to be delivered next week.
