The mayor of Sofia has ordered that "anyone walking in the streets of the capital with a knife, an axe or a fork in hand is immediately arrested".

After a second night of Roma violence and open hostility towards the Bulgarians in the district of Krasna Polyana, mayor Boyko Borisov held a meeting with the deputy head of Sofia police and agreed that anyone, who threatens the public order and security, should be arrested.

"Otherwise I will blame the police not only of failing to do its job, but also of boycotting my orders," Borissov said.

Borissov, who is former Chief Secretary of the Interior, was quick to visit the battle field last night, commenting that during his time in office such outrages were dealt with for a few hours.
