How can the Ziganite shout �’death to Bulgarians’’? Are they not Bulgarians?
They have lived in BG for hundreds of years but think of themselves different. Ziganite have always been above the law and it’s always someone else’s fault that they are poor. Maybe you should not have 10 kids if you don’t have a pot to piss in. Your kids are all working Bulgarians’ liabilities. Most of Ziganite have not worked a day in their life but now get a social pension of 75 leva, which is 5 leva less than someone who has worked for 30 years. Justice for all – not really. Ziganite are burden on society. When ziganite attacked Bulgarians in Zaxarna Fabrika and killed innocent people, was there a retaliation by the Bulgarians. No, of-course not, that would be racist. Some drunk Ziganin crashed a private restaurant party, because the idiot wanted to buy a beer. Well he was refused and pushed out the door. Which part of �’We are not open’’ didn’t you understand. Scum.

Yeah great discrimination......if my grandparents don't pay their bills they get the electricity and gas cut off......if the gypsies don't pay their bill and someone attemps to cut off their electricity they riot....and you get interviews on TV spewing out trash along the lines of "i'm not gonna pay for it.....the country is gonna pay!" now they are threatening to burn down entire neighborhoods?? The tragic thing is the mentality and the values that are being passed on from generation to generation....ones of not working, leeching of the country and not getting any sort of decent education, they set up initiatives where free food was offered just to get them to stay in class....don't get me wrong the gypsies i'm referring to are mainly the ones living in the "ziganski mahali" you go outside Sofia into some of the villages around the country and the gypsies there are pretty well integrated, again no education but they do agricultural work... and i'm fully behind Dido about their birth rate its ridiculous lacking any sort of common sense what so ever.....

Yeah, yeah. They used to say this sort of thing about black people in the UK and US until recently. Just admit it: there is widespread racism and discrimination against Roma in BG, as there is in Slovakia, Czech Republic, etc. Clearly these Roma have had enough and are retaliating.

It's a bullshitz - you know - noone has been exalted - Romes do nothing bur rober the roop and poorest bulgarian.
Most from outside bulgaria think and see the things realy different - but EU make Romes be wealty than bulgarians :
- Romas do not work at all
- Romas receive social payments
- Romas do not pay for electricity
- Romas do not pay for water
- Romas has a right to build own buildings whenever they wish
- Romas do not fear police ot army - because they have a RIGHTS !
- Romas hate bulgarians - because we live on their will

Well - i'm almost sure that if EU continue to support their RIGHTS against bulgarinas - soon we will have nothing but internal war - just like Kosovo
but - a massive one , fast and realy bloody !

You are not going to get Bulgarians to admit there is discrimination against the Roma in BG. Most BG's tend to be too prideful to admit that they have a problem and are part of the problem.

I agree with CJB, Gypsies are massively discriminated against. They have no chance of a job from the moment they are born, that's why the end up in such poverty. That doesn't excuse their behaviour though but to sort this problem out requires work and understanding on both sides. Where we live in Plovdiv there are a couple of gipsy houses next to our block and they seem to live like any other person in the town, but with their own culture. I have no problem with them and they seem like nice people.

The problem occurs in the ghettos where there are only gipsys and I imagine there is far more violence and abuse between gipsys than between gipsies and bulgarians.

By their logic, just because I don’t have a job & am poor, I have the right to go and smash cars and burn houses. The problem is Ziganite resort to violence every singe time, regardless of the issue. When a ziganska mob killed the BG professor in Sofia, how many of them got charged. None. Were the BG people rioting their neighborhoods and burning down houses. No.

On 12.08.2007 a group of young people(aged 16 - 20), boys and girls, are headed to a cafe named 'Flash'. It was closed and the group headed back to Fakulteta neighborhood. On their way back one of the girls - Asia Metodieva notices that a boy with a beer in his hands came out of a supermarket 'Fantastiko' and walked towards them. Another 15 boys join him and they surrounded the group and start beating them fiercely. They are threatened not to scream for help. The fight continues between 10 and 20 minutes. The whole group is beaten and with injures. The place is well lit and there were witnesses. A patrol car from Third Police Station refused to go to the place of the incident. After the fight the group takes a taxi and goes to Pirogov where they receive urgent aid and testified. Rumen Sashov Rumenov is in worst condition - broken jaw and is now in the relevant department of the surgery un the hospital. He has suffered two operations and there will be one more.

I hate to be the one to say, I TOLD YOU SO. I some of my previous postings I was writing about the gypsies and describing their stubborn, uncivilized tribal behavior.
Okay I admit that there is discrimination against the gypsies, but I have to also admit that this discrimination is ENTIRELY based on their BEHAVIOUR and stubbornly uncivilized acting. Gypsies in Bulgaria would have all the chances every Bulgarian has ONLY if they learned to behave like normal human beings (study, work, contribute to society, face responsibilities and so on). As I already wrote in some of my previous postings, even in the old communist times they were running away from school (free and mandatory education), stealing, lying and cheating their way through life. On the other hand there were few of them which decided to study and work and even take some leading positions, and thy were treated with nothing but respect. So it is possible as you see but by far the majority of them (influenced by the life in the gypsy neighborhoods) turns in an uncivilized tribal gang. I repeat: gypsies problems have NOTHING to do with their race and it's solely based on their BEHAVIOUR, if they change their behavior towards live, they will be more than welcomed by today’s diverse and global world.

Us "civilized" Bulgarians vs the "uncivilized" Roma
We are all people (no matter what bs Kolega will post...he is a well known racist...) Race, skin color, nationality, none of that really matters.

To stereotype and say that "all Roma behave in uncivilized manners" is racist and inaccurate. True, there are cultural answers for some of the things that seem uncivilized to you. Some Roma band together in tribes and steal- yes that is true. Some Roma band together in tribes and commit crimes like prostitution- yes that is true. I do not morally agree with the behavior, but I do not get on here and say that all Roma behave this way, because that is wrong. There are transcenders in the Roma community that are of Roma origin but do not choose to follow their family members into criminal activities. I have a Roma friend who has a PhD. That is more education then I am sure you will ever attain in your lifetime. There are Roma tribes that only specialize in music, or art, or pot making and they do not commit crimes. It is easiest to believe what you see on the surface and, unfortunately for the Roma, the criminal activities of the few overshadow the LEGAL activities of the many (do to many reasons including the media). I worked with the Roma for 2.5 years. I know what kind of people they are. In fact there are some Roma people that I would trust more than any Bulgarian or American that I know. But then again, I don't judge people based on ignorant stereotypes...
