Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov's GERB party announced the names of fourteen of its candidates for mayors in Bulgaria on Monday. The local elections are fixed for October 28.

Borissov himself was nominated for a second mayoral mandate in the capital.

Slavcho Atanasov, candidate for Bulgaria's second largest city Plovdiv, was nominated by GERB and the Internal Macedonian Revolutionary Organization (VMRO).

Mitko Nikolov is the person who will join the mayoral race in the Black Sea city of Burgas, the candidate for Russe is Vanyo Tanov, Tzetzka Tzancheva will try to win the post in Pleven. Zlatko Todorov will fight for mayor in Montana, Petar Yakimov is the candidate for Borovets, GERB proposed Tzvetan Velkov for the post in Varshetz, Georgi Slavov is the nomination for Yambol, Stefan Damyanov will run for mayor of Kazanlak, Stelyan Varsanov for Peshtera, Valentin Gadzhev for Madan, Rositsa Todorova for Godech and Siuleyman Alendarov for Satovcha.
