Bulgaria's Health Ministry announced Monday the open competition for the election of a new head of the Sofia ER hospital Pirogov.

The candidates should submit their applications to the Ministry.

All applicants will be asked to pass a written and an oral exam before they are shortlisted for an interview. Only the ones who scored more than 4,5 out of six will be admitted to the oral exam.

Pirogov Hospital was left without a director after a month of daily protests of the hospital's staff, who, in addition to the demands for higher salaries and change in the statute of the hospital, wanted to oust its previous head Doctor Spas Spaskov.
