Bulgaria's rightist Union of Democratic Forces (UDF) has surprisingly announced Wednesday it supports current Sofia mayor's nomination for a second mandate.
UDF's leader Plamen Yurukov and Sofia Mayor Boyko Borisov said it is highly probable the two formations to form joined tickets for the forthcoming local elections.
The two leaders have discussed a short- and a long-term joined legislative initiatives and measures to be taken for improving the situation in the capital city such as banning construction works at the weekends.
"We have previously worked for changing the old managing model in Sofia in cooperation with Boyko Borisov," Yurukov added.
The mayor and the right-wingers' leader explained the two parties are to cooperate just to prevent the socialists from assuming the power in Sofia.
"We will also work together for organizing a pro-term parliamentary vote," Borissov added.
