The decision of Libya's highest judicial body to commute the death verdicts of the six jailed medics provoked mixed feelings, Bulgaria's President Georgi Parvanov said on Wednesday.
"Undoubtedly, the news about cancelling the death sentences is quite positive, as the prisoner exchange agreement between the two countries could now come into effect," the head of state added.
President Parvanov assured the institutions will make their best to speed up this process but he has not mentioned a date, when the medics could return to Bulgaria.
He has not commented either on the possibility to pardon them after they come back to the country.
