Interpol and Europol are searching for about 130,000 cars that have been stole by well-organized crime rings on the Balkans.

Bulgaria's capital city of Sofia is among the centres of the auto mafia on the peninsula along with Skopje, Belgrade, Sarajevo and Zagreb.

Some 60,000 vehicles were transported through Monte Negro or left on the territory of the country.

In most of the cases the cars reach the Near East and Syria's capital city of Damascus.

The car thieves from the different countries collaborate in their strictly arranged system - some steal the vehicles and other change their number plates and forge the documents.

"Golf", "Audi" and "Mercedes" are the brands that are being most often stolen, officials reported.
