The number of the passengers, who use the services of Sofia Airport, has increased by 24 % in the first six months of the year in comparison to the same period in 2006.

The total number of the arrivals and the departures reached almost 1,3 million since the end of June, the report of the airport's officials shows.

London turned out to be the most preferable destination, as more than 130,000 passengers chose to travel to the UK's capital.

The second place is taken by Vienna and third ranks Germany's Frankfurt.

The percent of the passengers getting on Sofia Airport's regular international flights has also increased by 25%.

Since the beginning of the year there are three new low-cost air carriers started operating at the airport. The other two - the Hungarian Wizz Air and Sky Europe extended the range of their destinations.
