A group of Bulgarians, fleeing the tense Gaza Strip, touched down aboard a charter flight at the seaside Varna airport on Friday.
Two women, a man and six children were rushed through the Erez border crossing to the safety of Israel on Thursday and then travelled to Jordan. They were accommodated at the Jordan capital Amman and headed for Bulgaria Friday morning.
Around 25 people declared last week their willingness to leave the strip. Most of the Bulgarians living in Gaza are the offspring of mixed marriages of Bulgarians and Palestinians.
The news came hours after it emerged that a Palestinian, holding a Bulgarian citizenship, has been kidnapped late on Wednesday night by Hamas members from his home in the Gaza strip.
