A Bulgarian man in his 30's has been shot to death on the terrace of a Madrid pub shortly after midnight, EFE agency reported.
Three bullets were fired at the man, according to the report.
Witnesses say the Bulgarian was being chased by two people along the Calle Vallehermoso in the ChamberГ district of the capital.
Health workers arrived to find the man in cardiac arrest, but after five minutes they pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile Madrid police announced that three Bulgarians were arrested at Barajas airport for attempting to smuggle a yet unknown amount of cocaine, which they had swallowed.
The Bulgarians, aged 19, 31 and 39, were planning to head for Amsterdam.
