President: Bulgaria Closer Than Ever to Solving Libya-Jailed Medics' Case
Politics | July 3, 2007, TuesdayStill the President did not dare to say whether the six medics' case would be solved by the end of the year. He also refused to comment whether the case will be solved by the end of the Portugal presidency of the EU.
Germany's President Horst Koehler refused to comment why no agreement with the families of the HIV infected Libyan children was reached. But he said there is some movement on the case and vowed to put all his efforts in it.
President Koehler arrived Tuesday for a three-day visit to Bulgaria, at the invitation of Parvanov.
He was officially welcomed at the Alexander Nevski Square.
Koehler's visit comes just three days after Germany relinquished its six-month presidency of the European Union, during which the bloc stepped up its efforts to free five Bulgarian nurses.
