An unidentified criminal shot a man and injured another two at a busy Melbourne city intersection and run away on Monday.
Witnesses and police said the gunman appeared to be involved in a violent domestic row with a woman in a taxi and when two men intervened, he shot all three down.
The shooting followed an earlier incident outside a nightclub when the criminal grabbed a woman by the neck and hair and followed her after she got on a passing taxi.
Police appealed for the taxi driver to come forward.
Shortly after the incident, the authorities found a handgun believed to be that used in the crime at a nearby construction site.
The lives of the two injured people, at the age of 30 and 24, are still in danger after they underwent surgery at a local hospital.
