MAJORITY OF BULGARIANS AGAINST PRELIMINARY ELECTIONS

67% of the Bulgarians think that preliminary elections are not currently necessary, 19% want such elections, a national survey of the MBMD sociological agency shows. 70% of the respondents said that the government should stay in office at least till the meeting in Prague this autumn when Bulgaria hopes to receive NATO invitation. Still, 36% said that changes in the cabinet were necessary. The Chief Secretary with the Interior Ministry Boyko Borisov still has highest rating (75%), followed by Foreign Minister Passy (58%), President Parvanov (52%), Sofia Mayor Sofianski (47%) and Prime Minister Saxe-Coburg (43%). Trust in the cabinet slightly improved– 35% of the interviewed said they didn’t trust the government, which is 6% less compared to last month. 1182 people were interviewed by MBMD in this survey.
