No more than four parties - centre-right GERB, Socialist BSP, ethnic Turkish DPS and nationalist Ataka - could make their way to the next Parliament if general elections were held today, says a survey of Gallup polling agency.
Sofia mayor Boyko Borisov, whose new rightwing party scored a marginal victory in Bulgaria's first European parliament elections last month, is widely considered to be the absolute winner in the MEP vote.
Were parliamentary elections held today, the GERB party, whose founder and informal leader Borissov is, will inch ahead of the currently ruling Socialist party by 2%.
The party of Bulgaria's former king Simeon Saxe-Coburg, currently centrist partner in the ruling coalition, holds a chance to pass the threshold of 4% and gain seats in the next Parliament.
All right-wing parties, however, will go by the board.
