Bulgaria's Interior ministry launched Wednesday a campaign for prevention and fight of EU funds embezzlements, initiated together with local journalists.

Minister Rumen Petkov gave the go-ahead of the campaign together with the head of the "Journalists against corruption" club Reneta Nikolova.

The initiative includes a video clip and a brochure with telephone numbers and e-mails for corruption alerts. The video clip will be aired by the three national TV channels - the national state-owned BNT, private bTV and Nova TV.

"The people will be much better informed about how EUR 11 B is spent and what to do if they encounter misuse," Minister Rumen Petkov said.

He believes that the initiative will boost Bulgarians' confidence in the state fight against corruption.
