Defending two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso confessed he felt "uncomfortable" with the support his McLaren team gave British teenage prodigy Lewis Hamilton.
"From the first moment I wasn't comfortable with everything," Alonso told Cadena Ser radio.
"It's an English team, with an English team-mate. You know that all of the help goes his way.
I've understood that from the first moment and, well, I'm not moaning about it," he went on to say.
Alonso moved to McLaren in the off-season after winning two titles with Renault, where he was paired with Hamilton, who made a flying start to his first Formula 1 season.
Hamilton finished on the podium in each of the season's six races, winning his maiden grand-prix on Sunday in Montreal, opening up an eight-point lead over his teammate in the drivers' standings.
Ironically, McLaren is being investigated by the motor sports ruling body FIA on suspicions it instructed Hamilton not to challenge Alonso's lead during the previous grand-prix, held on the streets of Monte-Carlo.
