A sniper of Arab origin was arrested in Sofia just before the arrival of US President George Bush in Bulgaria, the interior minister announced Tuesday.
The police have also seized a 33-year-old man, who made threats against the US head of state during his visit to Bulgaria.
The authorities are still investigating the two cases.
The documents of 63 foreigners, who live in Bulgaria, were checked by the police as part of the tight security system formed during Bush's two-day visit.
A total of 3,500 policemen, 500 gendarmes and 1,000 officials from the country were responsible for the US president's security and comfort.
