Bulgaria needs to continue its fight against corruption to draw investors to the country, US President George Walker Bush told reporters in Sofia on Monday.

Investors seek a good business climate and less government intervention, said Bush before praising the commitment of Bulgarian officials to eradicate corruption.

Bush and his Bulgarian counterpart Georgi Parvanov met on Monday morning in Sofia, the last stop of his week-long European tour that also included the G8 summit in Germany, as well as visits to the Czech Republic, Poland, Italy and Albania.

His agenda also includes a meeting with Prime Minister Sergey Stanishev and a round-table discussion with students from the American University in Bulgaria.
