Three Bulgarians, who featured in a shocking video for organized crime groups aired by a Greek TV channel, said the whole thing was a set-up.

What were claimed to be crimes captured on a hidden-camera video have been unmasked as a plot hatched by the team of Alter TV channel, the Bulgarian national radio reported on Thursday.

An unemployed, featuring as the boss of a local organized crime group, a prostitute and her pimp claim to have been persuaded to take part in the video with requests, threats and bribes of EUR 200.

The three have been detained for 24 hours at the request of the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's office.

The film was reportedly shot in the town of Sandanski a year ago.

It showed two Greek journalists, disguised as Greek businessmen establishing contacts with certain individuals from the crime network in Sandanski.

Human traffickers themselves started telling about the sales of girls to Greek pimps in Greece. The pimps from Bulgaria's neighbour paid EUR 1,500 a girl to exploit them for a year.

The TV channel also reported on deals with all kinds of drugs in huge amounts. The camera even captured the transfer, the payment and cooperation between drug dealers.

The video showed the service "Mutilating and killing of individuals in Greece", which one can get for several thousands euros.
