The Natural Failure of Bulgarian Naturalists' Naturism
It emerged that the European Commission' s objections concern namely the range of the territories included in the list on NATURA 2000 program, as it once was almost twice as large. But Bulgaria's ministers decided to give private investors more chances of building new bonanzas on beauty spots at the seaside and in fast developing winter resorts. In all probability, it did not occurred accidentally.
It is highly probable that the interests of some important figures are being protected at the expense of the charm of Bulgaria's nature. And, as it is already part of the European landscape, Brussels considers it its duty to preserve these places.
The ruling circles have not stopped even at the numerous protests, staged regularly by devoted eco-activists in extremely original and - at the same time - edifying ways.
Bulgaria's politicians obviously do not care even about the EU requirements and points of view. Because the well-being of a handful men in power seems to stand above all. Consequently, we can assume the US fame, as Bulgaria deserves to be called the country of the unlimited possibilities...

The Natura 2000 debate will run for a good while yet.
I think there is false economics here.
The builders and developers are marked with the cheesy, greedy tag of shot-termism... the fast-buck group! There is already over development in some areas and investors are going elsewhere because of Bulgaria's record on crime and corruption and the unsustainable inflated prices.
Whereas nature reserves will be an attraction for ever.
