Sofia City City Court released Monday the ex-Sofia heating utility head Valentin Dimitrov on BGN 20,000 bail.

The judges decided there is not enough evidence on the charge of money laundering that Dimitrov faced.

The accusations of tax evasion and currency frauds will be considered once again.

The prosecutor on the case Bozhidar Dzhambazov criticized the court's decision explaining that, being at liberty, the defendant could influence further investigation on the case.

The previous hearing on the trial was postponed as Dimitrov was given last opportunity to look through the evidence on the trial gathered so far.

Valentin Dimitrov, who is charged with mass money laundering and embezzlement wanted to be placed under house arrest because his wife gave birth while he was behind bars and he claims he can't take care of the child from jail.

Dimitrov was arrested after the Toplofikatsiya heating utility that he headed was found in tatters and had to file for bankruptcy.
