5 Die in Chain Crash on Bulgaria's Hemus Highway

Crime | May 20, 2007, Sunday // 00:00

Five Bulgarians died Sunday in a hellish car crash near the Vitinya tunnel on the Hemus highway, Darik News reported.

An Opel bumped in a heavy load truck, the car turned and hit another vehicle. The two Opel passengers and the three people in the other car died on spot. There is no information about the truck driver.

The local fire fighters are now trying to take out the bodies of the people, as they are jammed in one of the cars.

Ambulances were sent immediately on spot.

Police have cordoned off the area and a traffic jam is expected in the next hours. The most possible reason for the deadly crash is the high speed of the Opel car and the wet road.
