The ethnic Turkish party in the coastal district of Varna has declared three days of mourning after it emerged that a member of its youth branch has died in a heavy car crash.

Yusein Yuseinov, 23, was killed on the spot and another four were heavily injured after a car bumped headlong into a telegraph pole late on Sunday. The man was behind the wheel and most probably caused the accident.

The heavy crash occurred in the region of Dolni Chiflik, near Varna on the northern Black Sea coast. The group of friends were on their way to a disco club.

Two of the injured have been rushed to the emergency unit of the Varna hospital and their life is in danger.

Yuseinov was an active member of the youth organization of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms.
